Professional Development Grants are aimed at contributing to the retention and promotion of faculty who enhance the diversity, equity and inclusion goals of the university. Tenure-track and tenured faculty are eligible for these grants. Grant funding can be used for the following purposes:
— travel to a senior colleague’s institution or to invite a senior researcher to Cornell
— funding of professional training opportunities, e.g., training on specialized databases or equipment
Grants are generally limited to $1,500 and can be used towards travel and/or accommodations. Accommodation costs are limited to $300 per night. Travel is limited to the lowest available fare to the destination. Given the demand, more than one PDG in a fiscal year is not guaranteed and is dependent on funds availability.
