This workshop discusses tools to diversify pools, avoid cognitive biases, and engage in effective search practices. The session includes a filmed scenario of a faculty search committee discussing candidates, followed by a conversation with the committee chair. Through a facilitated discussion we will unpack the scenarios, briefly examine the social science research underlying the dynamics presented in the videos and offer practical tools to address some of these dynamics.
