Caring for Aging Parents

Jenna Wells, an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology, will discuss the differences between dementia and Alzheimer’s; how these diseases are diagnosed; and how to tell if your parents are aging “normally”. She also will address risk factors, treatment for dementia, and research on caregiver vulnerability and resilience factors.

Ruth MerleDoyle, work-life program manager in Cornell’s Division of Human Resources, will explain how the Work/Life team can support caregivers. She also will share local Ithaca and other resources that can help regardless of location. There will be time for questions and answers.
