Yael Levitte is the Senior Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Development and Diversity at Cornell University. Levitte works closely with the deputy provost on faculty recruiting, retention, and development issues. She oversees dozens of educational and community-building programs that support faculty across their careers. Levitte also oversees faculty leadership initiatives to support current and aspiring academic leaders. She is the co-director of the faculty development core of the Cornell FIRST program aimed at diversifying Cornell faculty in the biological, biomedical, and health sciences; the program is funded by the NIH. Her own research has been supported by both the NIH and NSF.
Yael earned a B.A. from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, an MS. Pl. in Urban Planning and a Ph.D. in economic geography from the University of Toronto. She has also earned an executive coaching certificate from Columbia University’s Coaching Program.
